Possession is a unique art film, because it has a narrative that looks at the art world and the mind set of a devoted collector from within. The art world’s presence is strong throughout the film, from art dealer Rex Irwin lending his gallery for a climactic scene, the surrealist collector Ray Wilson appearing in a cameo role, Peter Booth lending the copyright to his painting, the actor/sculptor Max Cullen in a leading role and UK editor of Art Influence Laurence Fuller as the lead actor. The film focuses on one man’s turbulent relationship with a work of art, one that is blinds all else in his life.
